    Oh, I see. I see …
I reckon you’d have to get permission to film, in a supermarket, eh?
Can you carry a concealed camera or some such?

I’ll confess to you that the thing that initially stunned me is that the “Conbini” and convenience stores are so well-provisioned and stocked.

Then again, I associate the Japanese with stuff of “quality” and stuff that is quality made, so I guess it really isn’t all that shocking that their convenience stores would be stocked with what they R!

Oh, and need I add that the sheer variety of fried foods and tempura has me shell-shocked!

    And …

I love those little triangle-shaped nori-wrapped rice snacks, whatever they’re called. Seattle’s Uwajimaya sells them and other Asian foods, too. I guess you can just google “Uwajimaya in Seattle” and see what you can see, eh?

Oh, and I understand your NOt liking Boston’s winters. Man, do I! Am from NYC so yeah … I get that. Are the winters where you are all that harsh, Todd?

Cool beans! Your videos amaze me. I have loooong been fascinated with Japan, South Korea, China (mom went there and to HK, too — loved HK!) and The Phillipines! Oh, and not to mention Vietnam, although I’d be worried about hygiene in Vietnam, to be perfectly honest with you. Anyway, yeah … these vids are amazing and I can’t thank you enough. You SPOIL we all :)

Man, your food videos are killing me … kindly, that is!

Todd, any chance that you can walk all of us verrry slowly thru’ a Japanese supermarket so that we can see exactly what foods are for sale therein, and how the food differs from US stuff, please? I love sloooow tours.

I love traveling to foreign countries and experiencing other cultures and food. Gosh, you guys must have enjoyed yourself, especially at that 300 yen restaurant. Looks like a place to just kick back and have good times. Nice video, and thanks for posting.

Thanks a lot for the comment. Yea in Japan the way the “strange” food is prepared and presented makes it easier to eat for a newcomer. I had time to try things before I came due to my wife being Japanese. There still are a few things I need time to get used to but over all it all good stuff.
