I think sex by itself can be a great storytelling tool, but when it’s just for simply perverted reasons or to target a certain audience with titillation, I think that’s when it’s bad.

I actually think it’s cool (or at least unique) that there are comics aimed at women that have such that kind of nature.
I’m personally not fond of sex in stories really, unless it makes sense for the plot but I think it’s good to have outlets for people too.

…I wouldn’t say I’m completely against this type of anime/manga. While I don’t really prefer it, either, I don’t judge people who read/watch it just for that reason, and I’m sure there’s lots of anime/manga out there that have some sexual scenes but have a different storyline as well.

Maybe its the same thing as love novels are for girls here? I mean if you’ve ever read like a harlequin love novel, they can actually get pretty graphic. I think in every culture girls fantasize about the idea of these amazing guys and loving relationships with them. Though we don’t see many use manga for that, we attach ourselves to things like tv love dramas and novels to fulfill more of that enjoyment in the fantasy of it.

I have nothing against stuff like that. I read a lot of Yaoi and I love reading it but the one thing I will say is that those types of Manga really should have age restrictions because kids really shouldn’t be reading those. But sex is a natural part of life, the sad thing though, is that most people who you see reading those probably don’t have a lover and are looking for sex in other ways. I have a boyfriend though so that’s not why I read them. I just like them and see nothing wrong with it.
