Research of otakus? yeah and my friend is an otaku who loves talking to others. And he remain normal in look.
    yeah say about that.
Otakus aren’t in matters of appearance but obsessions. They can also remain normal in look. not all otakus like me are fat or too skinny.
I mean really, where the heck did the research take you? Otakus can get job but obsession doesn’t take you to having no job. Where the hell did you research that? Are you stupid?

It implies lack of social skills, motivation and any constructive interests, not caring about your appearance or health, thus being fat or skinny due to malnutrition. Besides anime and manga otaku is not the only kind of otaku. There are idol otaku, train otaku, galge otaku, military otaku and whatnot.I suggest you try going to Japan and telling someone that you are an otaku. I bet you’ll get some weird looks. Westerners are confused about the true definition of otaku. Just do some research.

It’s just an obsession… it doesn’t HAVE TO DO with appearance of being fat or skinny. Otaku means an obsession of anime/manga. There’s no negative connotation on the term otaku.
People who are Otaku just have an obsession in anime/manga but it doesn’t mean that’s your ONLY obsession. Where the hell did you get that Otaku term regarding in appearance, social, no job, nbegative connotation? It’s a word of obsession, not a freaking appearance matters

I’m American and I’ve got to say these so called American “otakus” annoy the crap out of me

No, merely an anime fan is not an otaku yet. Otaku is an either extremely fat or extremely skinny socially inept loser with no real job obsessed over either anime, video games, idols, etc. or over any combination of these. The term otaku has many negative connotations and basically means that you’re ONLY interested in a certain part of popular culture and have no other interests whatsoever.

What Im seeing in this documentary is that people are cosplaying from the anime that was only introduced to America. Gawd, start watching anime from Japan that hasn’t been introduced to America. Im kinda tired seeing all the boring and old cosplay every year.

a true otaku? “True” Otaku means that you were born to love anime since age 1 to death lol. Also means Natural Otaku
Im not a “True” Otaku since I was introduced to anime at the age of 6 or 7. That means Im just an Otaku

Otaku are seen as society’s crap in Japan. When these people come here to Japan they are seen even lower than that, they are crap baka gaijin… Its sad to see them become depressed and eventually transform into Emo baka gaijin after the shock and disappointment for being rejected in the world they admire… American “Otaku”, stay in that side of the ocean, trust me, for your own good. (And for the good of all foreigners living in Japan who have to deal with the prejudice you create towards us)

In the words of the late George Carlin: BLOW IT OUT YOUR ASS! You are a class A hypocrite. I like some of that stuff as well. Take a look at my channel and you’ll see I have an interest in not so nice things. That being metal music, warfare, military history, religious ideology, the occult, and serial killers. Basically, a die hard metal fan who has been an anime fan since the late 90′s (starting with Ghost In The Shell and Slayers). Oh yeah, that’s weeaboo (sarcasm).

  11. 420sm9keweedeveryday

I didn’t say that, that was MrDozer99… Only weeaboos misuse the word otaku, in fact its a quick way to spot one.

  12. KidPsycoLovesAnime

wow he talks about not saying Japanese words right is so annoying then hes like bahka lol I kno u jus kidin but its just baka

  13. Somnolent Lullaby

Someone who tries to act like they’re Japanese based off of anime and manga. Otakus are stand-able, however, Weaboos are fucking annoying. Not even a stretch when I say this. They’ll give themselves a Japanese name and try to act like the a typical anime/manga character in style and action. So… let’s say they cosplay everyday of their life, and don’t even know who they actually are inside.

    Girl please,

“I guess I am on the last season already. That means I have to watch it.”
